Day 1 Arrive Paro & Transfer to capital city Thimphu 65 km 1 hrs drive
The flight from Kathmandu is one of the most spectacular flights you will ever experience in a life time. Flying in from the heat of the plains of India one can witness from the left side of the aircrafts window a series of the worlds highest peaks. Your pilot will announce the names of the peaks if the weather is clear. You will decend into the high mountains and as the plane lowers you will not find any airstrip or any city but instead you will enjoy the view of the approaching valley Paro, the alpine forests, little monasteries, temples and farm houses. Before the plane touches the runaway you will get a glimpse of the fertile valley of Paro, the Paro Dzong and Paro Chhu(river).As you step out of the plane, you take a breath of cool, clean fresh air.Our representative will be outside the terminal to meet and greet. Transfer to Thimphu. It is 1.5 hours drive from Paro and on the way you will come across paddy fields, apple orchards, paddy stacks, cattle, pine tree, farm houses and hamlets that smell of burning of wood. Day 2 Thimphu to Bumthang via Trongsa 267 km 7 – 8 hours drive
After breakfast drive to Bumthang, we drive up-hill towards "Dochu La Pass" at 10,000 feet, the first mountain pass in the western part of Bhutan. As we reach the pass you find the 108 Druk Wangyal chortens on the top of the pass where the ridges are draped in colorful prayer flags greet you. If the weather is clear you will be able to see the highest peaks towards the north,Gangar Pun sum among others is the highest unclimbed peak (24,000 ft) in the world. After reaching the Wangdi bridge you will find the Wangdiphodrang Dzong strategically located on a ridge 4,430 ft that overlooks the highway that fork to the east and south of the country. This is an old town with narrow street with single storied shops and also the gateway to central and eastern Bhutan. The legend Mahakala, the protective deity of Bhutan appeared to tell Shabdrung of prediction, saying "at top of rocky spur where two rivers meet, at the place where a flock of raven will fly off in four directions, you will build the Dzong". The Shabdrung built the dzong in 1638 and Punakha/Wangdi valleys are also the winter home for many of the high altitude farmers who migrate with their cattle to the warm climate.
Drive further uphill towards Pela La Pass crossing the Black Mountains that divides western and central Bhutan. The roads uphill is pretty curving with sharp bends but you need not worry as our drivers are well experienced and on the way you will find rhododendron, magnolias and yaks grazing and on clear days you will find the Mt. Jumolhari standing still towards the west, at an elevation of 23,685feet. Before arriving to Trongsa you will pass by Nikkarchu bridge and here you will find white washed stone chorten built in Nepalese style in the 18th century which lies below the road. This temple was founded by a lama called Shida who subdued a demon that was a trouble to the valley. Here you will experience something interesting as you will be approaching Trongsa where from the road you will be able to view the massive Trongsa Dzong also known as "the never reaching Trongsa Dzong. We stop for lunch in Trongsa and this place used to be the old gateway between the east and west. The dzong was built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1647 which is a masterpiece in architecture that includes countless courtyards, passageways and corridors in addition to the twenty three temples inside the dzong. We head towards Bumthang which is a short drive from Trongsa 2-3 hours drive and check in the hotel. O/n at Bumthang.

Day 3 Bumthang sightseeing & short hikes within the valleyBumthang is a very open valley and spacious which is different from other valleys in Bhutan, its altitude ranges from 2,600 meters (8530ft) to 4000 meters (13,125 ft).Bumthang is known as heaven for hikers and trekkers and you will come across many beautiful monasteries, also important Buddhist monasteries and pilgrimage sites. This valley is full of surprises and fascinating as almost every valley or hill has a background of interesting myths and legends about kings, Buddhist masters and serpents. This place is important in terms of religious relics left by the famous Guru Rinpoche and his reincarnation The Treasure Finder, Terton Pemalingpa who is known to have found the scared Ters or Buddhist texts after diving into a lake Mebartsho lake / pool with a lighted lamp on his head. The Jakar Dzong founded by a white bird, the Jambe and Tamshing Lhakhang are the oldest temples dating to the 7th century in Bhutan. The Kurje Lhakhang where the kings of Bhutan are taken for their cremation rites and besides the religious sites you should not miss a trip to the famous Bumthang Matha regions (villages) where you can find rich woolen plaid textiles dyed with natural colours and the famous Yatas, it is a thin cloth with bright pattern often made into warm jackets and scarves. On the way back stop and take a short hike to the famous Chime Lhakhang situated near the river on a small plateau built by the famous "divine mad monk"Drukpa Kunley, which is known or famous pilgrimage for infertile women. Explore Bhutan tour Day 02 : Paro Sightseeing - visit the ruined fortress of Drugyel dzong which still attracts visitors due to the strategic location of the fort Drive back and hike to the view point of Taktsang monastery. The hike which is all the way uphill takes about 2 /3 hours through villages and pine forests. The monastery clings to a huge granite cliff 800 meters from the paro valley. Late after noon drive 1 & 1/2 hours to Thimphu (65 Kms) which is the capital of Bhutan. Evening free time. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 : AM Thimphu sightseeing - visit the Memorial chorten built in the
memory of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, 15 century Changangkha monastery and the new Drupthob nunnery temple. PM drive 3 hours to Wangduephodrang crossing the Dochula pass 3100 meters. On fine weather you will see the eastern Himalayan ranges including the highest mountain in Bhutan Mt.Gangar Punsum 7520 meters. The drive from the pass is all the way downhill dropping to the lower and warmer valleys of lobesa. Visit the Dzong from outside and the market area. Overnight at hotel .
Day 04 : Today will be a long drive almost 6 / 7 hours crossing 3 passes over 3000 meters. The route offers magnificent views of the Himalayas and beautiful landscape through scattered
hamlets and forest of rhododendrons and pine. After one and half hours from Chendebji Chorten
arrive at a small town known as Trongsa meaning new village. The town mainly consists of fresh Tibetan refugees but the most impressive of all is the Trongsa Dzong. The whole of eastern Bhutan was con trolled from this fortress during the mid 17th century. Visitors are not allowed inside the building. Proceed another 2 hours to Bumthang visiting the Chume weaving center. Overnight at Karma Tobden GuestHouse or similar.
Day 05 : Bumthang altitude 2600m, has an individuality that charms its
visitors and separates it from other regions. Comprised of four smaller valleys, the deeply spiritual region of Bumthang is shrouded in religious legend. Here tales of Guru Padmasambhava and his re-incarnation known as Tertons still linger in most nooks and corners. It is also known for its woolen material (yathra) which can be seen hung outside of houses for sale. Sightseeing - Visit the Jakar Dzong, 7th century Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey monastery, Tamshing and Kunchosum monastery. This sightseeing is a round trip so it is more interesting done on foot. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06 : Drive back to Wangduephodrang via Gangtay Valley (9/10hrs).

Day 07 : AM drive 45 minutes to Punakha and visit the Punakha Dzong which
served as an old capital of Bhutan. This remarkable fortress is built between two rivers and has survived many glacial floods and fire. Every year during the month of February a procession known as the Punakha Serda takes place to commemorate the victory over the Tibetans. Drive 3 hours to Thimphu for lunch and proceed 2 hours to Paro via visiting the oldest building in Bhutan, the Simtokha Dzong. It now serves as a Buddhist university. Overnight Kichu Resort or similar.
Day 08 : Transfer to airport for departure.

Day 07: Trek Lingshi to Shodu {3963m}.
Day 08: Trek Shodu to Dolam Kencho {3628m}.
Day 09: Trek Dolam Kenchoa to Dodinanad and drive to Thimpu , overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Guided tour of Thimpu . In the afternoon drive to Paro , overnight at hotel.
